DEBATE: EDUCATION IS IMPORTANT AS  WELL AS RICHES

IMPORTANCE OF EDUCATION TO MAN BY: OPARINDE DESTINY

1. Personal Growth: Education helps individuals grow and develop by providing them with knowledge, skills, and critical thinking abilities. It broadens their understanding of the world and encourages a lifelong love for learning. In contrast, having wealth alone may not lead to personal growth or fulfillment.

2. Independence: Education empowers individuals to become independent thinkers and decision-makers. It equips them with the necessary tools to make informed choices in various aspects of life, including managing finances, choosing careers, and taking care of themselves. With education, individuals are better prepared to achieve long-term success and financial stability.

3. Social Mobility: Education plays a crucial role in promoting social mobility. It offers opportunities for individuals from diverse backgrounds to improve their lives and break the cycle of poverty. Education opens doors to better job prospects, higher earning potential, and improved living conditions, allowing individuals to enhance their quality of life and that of their families.

4. Adaptability: Education equips individuals with the skills needed to adapt and thrive in a rapidly changing world. It nurtures problem-solving abilities, creativity, and adaptability, which are essential for success in today's ever-evolving job market. Wealth alone may not guarantee these skills or the ability to navigate challenges and uncertainties.

5. Contributing to Society: Education encourages civic engagement and a sense of responsibility towards society. It fosters empathy, ethical values, and a desire to make positive contributions. Individuals with education often play active roles in their communities, addressing social issues, advocating for change, and working towards a fairer and more equal society.

6. Long-Term Security: While wealth can provide temporary comfort and financial security, education offers long-term stability. Economic circumstances can change, and unforeseen events can impact financial situations. In contrast, education provides individuals with a foundation of knowledge and skills that can lead to sustained success and adaptability throughout their lives.

7. Intellectual Stimulation: Education provides intellectual stimulation, curiosity, and a passion for learning. It offers opportunities for personal growth and fulfillment through the pursuit of knowledge and academic achievements. Wealth alone may not provide the same level of intellectual stimulation or personal satisfaction.

8. Broader Perspectives: Education exposes individuals to diverse perspectives, cultures, and ideas. It promotes tolerance, understanding, and appreciation for different viewpoints. This broader outlook enhances social harmony, encourages collaboration, and creates a more inclusive society.

EDUCATION: THE LEGACY OF A GREAT CHILD: By: Daniel Joseph

     Education is one of the prerequisites for the proper upbringing of a child. Without education, a child cannot stand boldly and face the challenges of life. Education is the basic building block that determines the future of a child. If a child decides to ignore the positive impact that education will have on his or her life, the aftermath of such a decision will result in a bitter ending. But if the child decides to embrace and recognize the impact of what quality education brings to his or her life, he or she will not just have a better tomorrow but a great tomorrow.

      According to the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), of the world's 787 million children of primary school age 8% do not go to school. Also, in Nigeria, more than 10 million children do not have the opportunity to attend school. This predicament that is ravaging the world is caused by war, diseases, pandemics, bad economic conditions, and underdevelopment of the educational structure and system of such countries. This situation can be properly handled and prevented by laying a solid educational system foundation that enables the educational sector of the economy to thrive and develop continuously. This can be accomplished by starting from the grassroots level. 

     Most of the developed countries in the world today like the United States of America, Britain, Germany, and others dominate the educational sector because they all have a well-structured educational system starting from the grass root level. This helps to promote national development and reduce the level of illiteracy. Another way this situation can be handled is by sensitization of communities, families, parents and children on the positive impact education will have in the life of a child. This can be done by creating an Educational Campaign Group legally whose job is to establish branches and offices in different cities and towns of a country thereby reaching out to communities and organizing programmes and seminars about the advantages of instilling the mentality of education in a child. The campaign group can also assist these communities financially and infrastructurally by building primary, secondary, and even tertiary schools, providing financial assistance to poor families, sponsoring children to school, provision of pipe-borne water and regular electricity supply, etc. And after campaigns have been carried out in different communities and cities, the development report made should be sent to the headquarters of the group for further development. 

      Also, the United Nations, United Nations Children's Education Fund (UNICEF), United Nations Education Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and other global agencies should provide health facilities, food and water, and basic social amenities for children affected by war and pandemics.

     According to the United Nations Children's Education Fund, there is a report that it has recorded the progress of about 25% in educating children out of 557 million children affected by war and diseases outbreak globally. This is a good development but it can be further worked on. I believe that if these measures are properly put into place, the impact will be felt positively in the educational sector of the country.

     Education gives a child great initiative and insights into a lot of things that will make him or her become great and successful in life. It is one of the determining factors that bring out the best in a child. Illiteracy is usually a limiting factor while education broadens one's horizon and enlarges one's scope. Education is the best legacy that determines a great child

Wisdom is the use of knowledge and good understanding to solve problems in life. 

It should never be taken for granted. 

There are three types of wisdom:

Spiritual, physical and mental wisdom. 

You can know a wise person by thoughts, action or word the same goes for a fool. 

Children in this world should be wise so that you will enter your own  demise. 

A wise person/child reads, a fool plays away everything. 

A wise child relates well with people, a fool fights everyone. 

A wise person accepts mistakes and corrections. 

A fool blames everyone for his/her mistakes. 

There are many more things to revise 

but to children heed this advice, always be wise.

THE LOVE OF GOD BY: IGBA LIGHT

I wondered what kept me all through this time,

Me, an expert sinner, a corrupted soul,

A person well-known as a bad influence,

An unchanged person, a wolf in the clothing of a sheep,

An enemy in disguise, the devil's ally.

Thinking no one would even want or need me,

Talk less of loving me, I gave up.

Then I had a chance to experience something

Something so magnificient, so wonderful, so strong,

Yet there and soft.

It was the love of God,

That never ending love of God,

The love that

makes a stranger, a high scaler, servants, kings,

The hungry-filled, poor- blessed beyond measures

Saving the lost and doing everything out of love which man couldn't

Having being the worst sinner

Literally, you love me; you gave me joy,

Unlimited joy that surpasses all the love or joy in this world,

Your love transformed me from a nobody to a role model to many

Made me a light when in gross darkness

Made me to shine brighter than the light of the sin.

Your love compasses all, and not even the love from men can beat that.

Your love is the best thing that ever happened to me

Knowing that the creator of the universe loves me,

Has always made my day joyous.

Your love is everything I'll ever need and it's more than enough for me.

You're the only one who gives me so much peace, love, joy, and many more.

And the best part is that you never let me go, even when I turn away.

How great are you are oh Lord,

It was a pleasure for you coming into my empty heart and filling it with your unending love.

Maybe I've only shown it but not said it,

But this is for you, Lord,

I LOVE YOU LORD 

And no one, not even the devil, can change that.
